How Ceremony works

Ceremony launches coins on pump.fun that pay their holders in a privacy coin. Each coin picks one at launch: Zcash, Dash, Aleo or private dollars (USAD). Its creator fees are collected, 80% is split between everyone holding it, and each holder's share is delivered in that coin through NEAR Intents.

1Overview

  1. Launch. A coin is created on pump.fun from this site. The launcher's wallet pays and signs, and the coin picks its privacy coin.
  2. Trade. Every buy and sell pays pump.fun's creator fee. For a Ceremony coin that fee goes to a wallet Ceremony controls for that coin, on the bonding curve and on PumpSwap after graduation.
  3. Sweep. Every few minutes Ceremony collects each coin's fees and splits the holder share between every wallet holding it, by balance.
  4. Pay. Once a holder's share passes $5 and they have set a payout address, Ceremony swaps it through NEAR Intents and sends it to that address.

2Launching

The launch page uploads the image and metadata to pump.fun's IPFS, then builds pump.fun's create_v2 instruction (a Token-2022 coin, the same kind pump.fun makes). One field is different from a launch on pump.fun itself: the coin's creator is a wallet Ceremony derives for that mint, not the launcher's wallet. The launcher still signs and pays for the launch and any dev buy.

The description gets one extra line, Pays holders in ZEC via Ceremony (or DASH, ALEO, USAD). That line is stored on IPFS with the coin and is what fixes its payout coin. It cannot be changed later.

A dev buy goes in a second transaction signed in the same wallet prompt, because pump.fun's create and buy together are larger than Solana allows in one transaction.

3Where the fees go

PhaseWhere pump.fun puts the creator feeHow Ceremony collects it
Bonding curveThe creator vault of the coin's creator walletcollect_creator_fee
PumpSwap (after graduation)The coin-creator vault on PumpSwap, as wrapped SOLcollect_coin_creator_fee, then unwrapped

Each coin has its own creator wallet, so every coin's fees are kept apart. A sweep runs once at least 0.01 SOL is waiting. It collects into the coin's creator wallet, reads what arrived, and moves it to the treasury. The amount recorded is what actually arrived.

4The split

Each sweep is split 80% to holders and 20% to the protocol. The holder share is divided by balance across every wallet holding the coin at that moment, read from the chain. The bonding curve, the PumpSwap pool and Ceremony's own wallets are left out. If you hold 1% of the coin when a sweep runs, you get 1% of that sweep's holder share.

5Payout addresses

Your share builds up against your Solana wallet. To be paid, open Earn, connect that wallet, and add an address for each privacy coin you earn in. Saving an address asks your wallet to sign a message. It is not a transaction and costs nothing. Only the wallet that holds the coins can set or change where its earnings go.

CoinAddress
ZECZcash transparent address, t1…
DASHDash address, X…
ALEO, USADAleo address, aleo1…

There is no deadline. A share with no address waits until you add one.

6When you get paid

After each sweep, every holder with an address and more than $5 owed in one privacy coin is paid. Ceremony asks NEAR Intents' 1Click API for a quote from SOL to that coin, delivered to your address, sends the SOL to the quote's deposit address, and follows the swap until it lands. Payouts usually arrive within a few minutes. If a swap is refunded, the SOL comes back to the treasury and your balance is restored.

7The privacy coins

CoinWhat it is
ZECZcash. Shielded transactions hide sender, receiver and amount.
DASHDash. Fast, cheap payments with optional CoinJoin mixing.
ALEOAleo. A chain built on zero-knowledge proofs.
USADPrivate dollars on Aleo. A stable coin, so no price swings.

8What is and is not private

Be clear about this before you rely on it.

9Costs

A payout pays NEAR Intents' swap cost out of your share: its platform fee plus the spread, usually about 0.5% to 1% for amounts over $5. Solana transaction fees for sweeps and deposits are paid by the treasury. There is no other fee to holders.

10What you are trusting

Ceremony is not a smart contract. The creator wallets and the treasury are keys held by the Ceremony server, and the split and payouts are done by that server. What you can check: every sweep and every payout is on chain with its transaction linked here, and the ledger for any wallet is public on the Earn page.

11Buying with privacy coins

Any pump.fun coin can be bought from Buy private without touching your usual wallet:

  1. A fresh Solana wallet is made in your browser. Its private key never leaves the page. Save it: the coins you buy live in that wallet, and you import the key into Phantom to trade or sell.
  2. You pay in ZEC, DASH, ALEO or USAD. NEAR Intents gives you a deposit address and delivers SOL to the fresh wallet. Zcash takes about 8 minutes (it waits for Zcash confirmations); Aleo about half a minute.
  3. The fresh wallet buys the coin through Jupiter, on the pump.fun curve or on PumpSwap after graduation. A little SOL (about 0.006) stays in the wallet for fees.

What this hides: on Solana, the fresh wallet's SOL comes from NEAR Intents' pool, so holder maps cannot draw a line from it to your other wallets. What it does not hide: the fresh wallet and its balance are public like any wallet; a transparent Zcash or public Dash deposit shows who sent it (send from a shielded Zcash or private Aleo balance); and NEAR Intents itself can see both sides of the swap. If the swap cannot complete, your coins are refunded to the refund address you give.
